I never understood fully the whole original sin idea. Why would God punish all of humanity just because Adam and Eve ate an apple? Wouldn't it be for fair to punish just Adam and Eve themselves and not their descendants for that one act?

@holylight12 I have thought about that before too; and have struggled with that very question myself. There are a few things that I do not understand how/why/what God is doing so and so throughout the ages in the Bible. But I do find myself believing that He knows what He is doing; and that we must believe and trust in the fact that He is not lying to us when He tells us about sin and the fact that He died for our sins and that He is the only way.

Thanks, Dave, for reminding us that hell is not a place where God is enjoying punishing people, but that hell is a serious penalty involving separation from God. You point to hell as a foundation of the idea of punishment for sin. You show that Allah is inadequate in addressing the problem of sin, that merely saying "You're forgiven." won't work for a just God.

@rightlydivide because God is not UNJUST He loves Justice and aurges to implement it. remember if they sined they both asked forgiveness and God forgave them why dont u guys think that every child is born of Forgiveness instead of Sin? God will not punish u for my sins and vice versa similary God will not punish every child that was born is born and will be borned for what Adam and Eve did. They did a sin they paid for it and they were Forgiven that is how so it is :) hope that answers u

Our God, mine an yours whether you ike it or not( but one day you will face him)..is nothing like human; He is the all knowing all seeing and all hearing.and only He knows what is in a persons heart so He is the All merciful. All glory and praise belong to Allah, as he is the most merciful and HE FORGIVES the bigest sins if you truly repent.And this is the thing that gives us hope to live,as we are human and we sin a lot.
