As a long-time Torontonian, I sincerely wish Dan Burke would die a incredibly prolonged and painful death.

That said, if Jay Reatard was sincerely concerned about the lack of security + overbooking of the venue then TALK THE FUCKING CROWD DOWN. Take a few minutes between songs, let the vibes settle, whatever it takes. If no one in the venue is on your side and you don't want to cancel the show take some fucking responsibility for crowd control yourself.
