Mister Thirlwell explains his relationship to Gash as one of his most formulaic and uninspired periods in his career, and he says he often wonders how he became so mainstream rock-influenced during this time. About Sony, he says that he thinks they looked at the fact that he was doing remixes for NIN and assumed there was "some kind of mentorship thing" going on. Honestly, I'm glad he didn't stick with Sony because there's just no way they'd put up with his schizophrenic creative processes.

@SuperMrMaximo I don't think he chose to be independent, Sony dropped him because it wasn't accessable enough.

To me gash seemed like it had a lot of direction from Sony. Most of its songs sounded like a mix of the popular alternative rock songs of the mid nineties. which may be why he made the rest of his songs independently afterward.

@Lindsay2947 Well, it's a sample thats been messed around with, but it's actually music from the soundtrack from the film 'King of Kings'. It's about Jesus.
