A Gay Christian Parody Musical: Straight to Heaven

In this hilarious send-up of Broadway musicals from "Les Mis" to "Beauty and the Beast" to "Rent," "Straight to Heaven" takes on the ex-gay world and the struggles of gay Christians.

We performed this just for fun at The Gay Christian Network's annual conference in 2007, where it became a surprise hit. We had the video here on YouTube in 8 pieces, but we've just re-uploaded it all in one.

The story: Cory, a young Christian, wrestles with his faith and sexuality while being torn between two extremes. Among the spoofs are songs from Les Miserables, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, Wicked, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Rent, and more!

I'm straight myself, by I appreciate that this musical for not buying into the dichotomy presented by Bernard and Seth. Let's hope Christians can love their neighbors---even the ones some parts of their community denounce.

I've been a Christian for 6 months and I have been struggling with the idea that God turns away from the homosexual community.

Last night I decided after months of prayer that I was tired of trying to pretend to be someone I’m not.

A fellow Christian I came out to lectured me about "sinning against God" and I felt there was no hope for my salvation. This video helped me realize my purpose is to serve God and trust in His grace. Thank you!
