Graduate students Alistair Ward, Kristie Loncich and Director of Research Services Barry Schaudt hand crafted dozens of bowls that were recently sold for donations to benefit the scholarship programs in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Boston College faculty, staff and students support these programs throughout the year and visit on service trips. Senior Olivia Amadon was one of several student speakers who explained experiences in El Salvador and the importance of the scholarships to children in the communities.
Sponsored by the Volunteer and Service Learning Center, Intersections, Nicaragua Faculty/Staff Teams and the Fine Arts Department, the event raised $1350 in one hour. Donors were invited to buy a bowl and fill it with chili. To make a donation, email volunteer@bc.edu or drop checks at the Boston College Volunteer Service Learning Center, McElroy 114.
