yoke 750 for 100ft
I felt good leading up into this event. I knew tyler got a time of 16 something so I wanted to beat that. He also went with the harder unbalanced of the two yokes. So naturally I had to as well. I gave the easier yoke to my competitor and went with the pain in the butt one. I took a slightly staggered stance to the left of the yoke as to try and balance it correctly. I was not set when grant was about to blow the whistle so I jumped under just in time for the whistle and I took off. I felt shakey not from the weight but from the motion. I think I started with too big of steps. I wound up dropping it 2-3 times in the 100ft. When I get a chance I am going to do this with no drops!
Time was 21s. Fastest time with that yoke. Winner got 16! Way to go Elliot Baum!

Tire flip 850 100ft
I felt ok going into this as my tire flipping is becoming much much more natural. there were two tires and I knew I had no chance of beating tylers time. I'd be fighting to finish. I was flipping with guest performer Cory St. Clair. I knew I needed to make up some points in the Overall so I told him he was not competing and I needed the clean tire. He was nice enough to allow me to grab the nice tire. The first few flips felt easy and awesome! about 50ft in I started to shut dawn and by back became fatigued (like a sissy). I began fighting for every rep and my mind started to fail. Looking back on this my form was all off. I started to switch to an extremely narrow grip about the time by back fatigued and that mde my pulls shorter. awful! I will have to work on this in the mean time! Need to 1-motion the1100 tire like Tyler does!
77'7" in 60s. Winner (Alex Whitaker) got 77'11"... BEAST!

Axle clean and then press for reps 265
I came in feeling not as warm as I'd have liked but no one really got a good chance to warm up. I put wrist wrapps on to protect my right wrist which has been giving me issues lately. I think it got hurt from bending and tearing things. ANYWAY my wrist felt great but I was using almost no leg drive. poor form on this event. I also lost it behind my head twice. and caught it on my shoulders both times. Tyler said after that I should have "widowmakered it" and jerked it to the front instead of dropping it completely. Very disappointed with this event but I felt it was a win as my shoulder did not hurt once! first time in a long time.
10 reps winner had 13 Elliot Baum

Farmers 280 on very hard handles for 200'
The pick was easy for me. I was surprised. usually I have serious issues with the pick but i did not with these. I began walking and /know I would not have got as far as I did if if were not for two things. 1-Max being about a foot step behind be almost the whole race and 2- seeing a LOT of people not be able to make the turn with these nasty things. there was a giant log jam at 100ft I dropped a bunch of times and got the turn with one pick. then fought for inches. My conditioning was horrible coming into this.
I got 107'8" and the winner Chris Davies got 110'9"

Keg loading (all 15' away from platform) 220, 250, 270, 290
I was nervous coming into this cause I knew a decent time would retain my title while a lousy time would make me loose it. I put my butt to that box and when i heard that whistle I exploded to that keg. I knew just dont drop it and I will do just fine. 220 went up just fine. got to 250 and had a great pace but fumbled and loaded it on its side. had to stand it up and ran to 270. I took a breath and grabbed this and knew i had to make up time. I might have said out loud "no more mistakes." I know that is all I was thinking. I got the 270 up and loaded just fine. went to the 290 and brought it to the platform. now at this point I thought "Just load this thing and have a good time and you are the champ." I'd decided to go for the sure thing and double over load this but it came up easy and I released on hand before the other and it felt upright. argueably the best 290 keg load since last year (I only got to practice this once before the contest.)
time was 35.3s. Alex Whitaker got 33.68 for the overall win.

Overview
I was not pleased with my performance or some of my decisions.
I got too caught up and forfeited the good yoke possibly costing me a better time, I also took too big of steps.
I had multiple mental errors in the tire.
The axle was disappointing as I was expecting a minimum of 10. I was actually looking for 15 reps but did not get it. Still a little mad about it.
Farmers was just tough. I am disappointed I took a 3-4s pause and stood up at TWO points.
And the keg was jsut that 250 keg. I was happy with the 290keg and the first 50' of the tire.
We should go tanning sometime....
