For Greater Glory hits theaters on June 1st, 2012.

Cast: Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Peter O'Toole, Oscar Isaac, Bruce Greenwood, Nestor Carbonell, Eduardo Verastegui, Santiago Cabrera, Ruben Blades

What would you pay for the price of freedom? In the exhilarating action epic FOR GREATER GLORY an impassioned group of men and women each make the decision to risk it all for family, faith and the very future of their country, as the fim's adventure unfolds against the long-hidden, true story of the 1920s Cristero War -- the daring people's revolt that rocked 20th Century North America. Academy Award® nominee Andy Garcia headlines an acclaimed cast as General Gorostieta, the retired military man who at first thinks he has nothing personal at stake as he and his wife (Golden Globe winner Eva Longoria) watch Mexico fall into a violent civil war. Yet the man who hesitates in joining the cause will soon become the resistance's most inspiring and self-sacrificing leader, as he begins to see the cost of religious persecution on his countrymen . . . and transforms a rag-tag band of rebels into a heroic force to be reckoned with. The General faces impossible odds against a powerful and ruthless government. Yet is those he meets on the journey -- youthful idealists, feisty renegades and, most of all, one remarkable teenager named Jose -- who reveal to him how courage and belief are forged even when justice seems lost. Director Dean Wright brings a visual power honed from years as a leading Hollywood effects guru -- on such blockbusters as TITANIC, THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and CHRONICLES OF NARNIA -- to this real-life tale that has never been told on screen before. The film is written by Michael Love. The producer is Pablo Jose Barroso. Garcia and Longoria lead a stellar multinational cast that includes the legendary Peter O'Toole, rapidly rising star Oscar Isaac (DRIVE), recording star and actor Ruben Blades (SAFE HOUSE), Bruce Greenwood (STAR TREK, SUPER 8), Nestor Carbonell (THE DARK NIGHT RISES), Bruce McGill (LINCOLN), Santiago Cabrera ("Heroes," CHE), Oscar®-nominated Catalina Sandino Moreno (MARIA FULL OF GRACE) and Eduardo Verástegui (BELLA). Shooting on historic locations throughout Mexico, the equally accomplished behind the scenes team includes director of photography Eduardo Martinez Solares (BAD HABITS), Oscar®-nominated editor Richard Francis-Bruce (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, SEVEN, HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE), production designer Salvador Parra (VOLVER) and Oscar®-winning composer James Horner (AVATAR, TITANIC, BRAVEHEART).

SO please don't go around preaching that you know about facts because you don't. Its the people who die, it's the people who get hurt, it's the people who die of hunger or get maimed by a bomb, or get sexually abused...those are the people who know about fact. Not you, sitting comfortably in your couch reading books all day, by people who document how people DIE but never do anything in the matter of SAVING THEM!!!

I don't need to study...people like me act. I am pure energy, and while academics like you are sitting on their lazy asses claiming to read and write books, I am out there fighting like a man. That is the difference between me and you, I don't place my trust on stupid fucking books because that's all they are. Books don't save or kill anyone...it's like the difference between a politician and a SOLDIER who fights their wars.

I don't know where you are getting that, but he was 12 years old when WWII broke out in 1939, and barely 18 when the war with Germany ended...I think those facts speak for themselves. He obviously would not have been mature enough to realize certain things as many young Germans didn't, Your assumptions regarding his mindset are obviously very biased and I'm not going to continue this conversation because your "facts" have no reason behind them, have a great day, sir. Please study more.

How do you justify the fact that he was fighting in the german army, and he didn't even know what he was fighting for...that is impossible. He would have noticed, by the ideology they were indoctrinating him with...he had to have at least some kind of idea of the goals of the people he was fighting for. I believe he knew exactly who he was fighting for and why.

I think you are missing some facts there, like for example that he was in the Wehrmacht and fought in the war until he deserted at the end of the war. He clearly used the Catholic Church to hide and avoid being captured and prosecuted, along with the rest of the people who were involved with the Nazi party. It's true that he couldn't avoid becoming a Nazi, but he knew who they were and what they were doing, and who he was fighting for...

If you read what he actually says regarding political and moral philosophy, you'll see that he mentions how a whole nation was able to be sucked in...I would recommend a book which compiles a bunch of letters by the philosopher, Josef Habermas, and Cardinal Ratzinger...Habermas is kind of off in a few cases but both make many good points...being a part of the Nazi party when you were a kid doesn't make you a Nazi, look at what Ratzinger actually wrote and said.

I never denied it, I'm saying you have to look at the context. After WWI, Germany was in such a way that the people were looking for any source of national pride, so many (being almost the whole country) fell into the trap of the Nazi party, which took total advantage of that desperation. Just because someone would have been a part of this party does not mean they were evil. Look at it in the historical context...this is what Ratzinger was raised in, in a way he wouldn't have had a choice.

He was, it is part of his biography. Nevertheless he is good at covering up his past life, because of course he was the pope. A new pope steps in, same thing, this new pope is being accused of covering up the dirty war in Argentina and he supported a ruthless dictator who murdered many political dissidents and their families. And yes, now he conveniently covers it up because he's the all powerful pope.

The men who fought in that rebellion didn't die so you could swear at people, even if they are wrong. Address these people with charity and give them rational arguments, all you're doing is making Christians look like an uneducated mob.
