Lo conoscevo bene. Suonava il contrabbasso quasi come fosse un violoncello. Gli ho sentito suonare la prima Sonata di Brahms davanti a Celibidache, che era in lacrime. E poi il 24mo capriccio di Paganini, sempre col contrabbasso. Era il più grande contrabbassista che abbia mai sentito. Sapere della sua morte mi ha rattristato molto, dato che eravamo abbastanza amici.
