Springsteen is a great songwriter !
-
@B0zz3 I totally agree with you because for me this is Bruce's best song of all his brilliant songs and I speak as a singer-songwriter myself!!
-
My favourite of all Bruce's brilliant songs!

Once upon a time I felt like that. I came back to my small hometown from the big city where I am studying diplomacy. I'm someone who is foreign now. Someone better. Now they are asking for new stories and offering me beer in my favourite bar. I'm not a folk anymore. I'm a hero that I don't want to be.

Bruce wrote this before 9/11.
True, but i mainly symbolizes a fireman. who survived going through the building.
People called him a hero, he didnt agree.
Other people died to save other at 9/11.
Those where hero's he said, I am the nothing man.
