Greetings Mind,

I think we can re-establish some meaningful debate and can get things back on track. By the way, my posting issues have been resolved. Thanks for all of the pointers and the personal message.

I'm done talking about Scientology; I promise ;-) The topic opens up a can of worms and derails the thread. Thanks for being so helpful, patient, and open-minded.

I re-watched the video and thought a very valid point was made about the advisability of psychiatrists and GP's prescribing psychotropics on the first visit. This can be extremely dangerous. For one thing, SSRI's have the potential to induce mania (which can cause erratic, violent, suicidal, psychotic behavior). This may help explain the relationship between SSRI's and suicide. An undiagnosed manic depressive would be a ticking time bomb if given an SSRI w/out an adjunct & close observation

Yes, I feel cognitive dissonance about Scientology. While I laud their efforts at fighting psych abuses, and honestly believe many of their programs and technologies have legitimate value, I'm sickened by the org's own repressive and exploitative actions.

Their good works are undermined by their own human rights abuses. I find it disgusting, for example, that they cull ex-members confidential auditing files for embarassing info to use as blackmail (e.g. religiousfreedomwatchdotcom).

I just wanted to clarify my views on Scientology for Richard. I'm quite ambivalent about this organization as it has a strong record of fighting for human rights and against them.

I've came to a place where I can appreciate the value of CCHR's very professional and compelling videos despite my disappointment with the Scientology org. As mentioned previously, the CCHR isn't composed soley of Scientology zealots. Furthermore, the soundness of the video's arguments is what really matters

Greetings Mind,

I was a bit tired when I entered my posts, so it's very possible this was an 'operator error' issue. I know for a fact that I entered a '.com' link in one of my posts. And my post was a dandy! Oh well.

I'm missing two posts as well. Perhaps MindCrimes thought we were derailing the thread with extraneous material? I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I posted a response to RichardTaitor, outlining my concern with how ex-members and critics were treated on the RFW website. Oh well--maybe MindCrimes can explain his motivations.

TY for clarifying I will take your word, it was one of the oxys.
I have a 6 year old niece who on the same day of her 6mo vax seized, almost dying (14min of CPR before the ambulance came). So the vax triggered a preexisting condition but without the meds she has now for her sick mind she dies. Go figure. The bottomline is that $ has taken center stage but we cant go and throw the baby out w/ the bathwater. Would you take the time to watch some Scientogy vids and spread awareness? TY letme know
