  • Hi! Is it possible to completly bypass the buffer on the rack gizmo or mastermind using the 4 cable method for effects with my engl Invader? Tone coloration was a big issue with my T.C G ystem with the 4 cable method, thats why I would like to restructure my Rig.

Thank you in advance and greets from Spain,

    manuel

  • @rockerboy1989 Yes, you can patch around the buffer and Click Stopper on the Rack Gizmo, leaving the signal path completely passive.

  • I want that shirt.

  • @sidge428 We don't have a video right now - and it would be a little difficult to do, because each MIDI-enabled amp works a bit differently. If you just plug the Mastermind into the amp, then the amp into the effects processor (with MIDI cables) and set everything to MIDI channel 1 (which is usually the default), then things should just start working. You'll just need to set the amp to call up the desired channel for each MIDI program (use the write or store button on the amp).

  • @rjmmusic oh, thats great, thankyou. is there a video showing how?

  • @sidge428 Yes, with a MIDI capable effects unit and amp, you can set it up to switch both channel and effects simultaneously.

  • @rjmmusic ahh excellent, thankyou :)

so would you only need a midi controller if say, you had a POD and an amp with midi port.

You use the crunch channel on your amp for dirty tones and effects from the pod together with your clean channel on your amp....would a midi pedal switch between the two "sounds"?

  • @sidge428 No, if all your equipment has MIDI ports, all you need is a MIDI controller. Amp Gizmos are only for equipment that doesn't have MIDI built-in.

  • @rjmmusic so if you had an effects unit with a midi port, and an amp with a midi port, would you need an amp gizmo?
