Spore - Science marches on!

Science... isn't really that great a thing, sometimes.

The coraclebirds discovery of science--previously they had hardly even used tools--was a terrible catastrophe to the planet. The small group of coraclebirds that had the technology quickly spread to take over the planet, and the coraclebirds who preferred the more simple life of the tribal village were conquered, exploited, and outright killed.

Letter to the mother of one of the dead coraclebirds: Mam youre son died a hero for his country and for science....... The mother rips it up and burns it because she saw the slaughter. The president dies three days later.
