On 9-30-11, the Matthew Filipowicz Show headed to the Occupy Boston rally, an offshoot of Occupy Wall Street, to ask the people "why they were there?"

This is a small sampling of their answers.

These are the richest and most privileged 'poor' people in the world. They carry cell phones, use computers, shop at grocery stores, drive cars - all made by the corporations the speak against. It is the age of entitlement.

  • The answer is LESS government you idiots!

  • @Txmpest its everywhere bro our world if being fucked by the large governments with little decisions for the "99%" to make for there own. these people of the occupy movement ,i hope are gunna unfuck the world....have fun being a puppet the rest of your life

  • the only stupid coment was TXMPEST OILMEN MENTALITY BUSH CLASS

  • @Citizen5667 Bush deregulates the banks so they can make risky loans which they did and caused a recession, and the answer is to deregulate more?

  • @karend51 Yeah sure maybe were not a third world country but that's not the point here.. This is a fight for our rights, for our way of life. We occupy because we deserve those things. Your short-sighted if you think were fighting for those things your completely wrong THAT IS NOT THE POINT HERE. Its about PREVENTION. Its about our freedoms. If we had our way there wouldnt be third-world ountries. I hate karens remark

  • @joziprue96 More government means more unsustainable pensions for the ten more people it takes to do one person's job in the private sector. Do they accomplish more? No. Does it cost more? HELL YES. By your logic, the disagreements in congress would be solved by expanding congress. That's some sound rationale you got there.

  • @joziprue96

Government would destroy every freedom we have if they could. A limited government gives people the power to make the government work for them and not the other way around. If you let government take over, they take over every choice you make. At least with corporations you can boycott, you can't really boycott governments.

On a second note, government programs are always a failure... Cash for Clunkers.

  • I sympathize with you. However, small business owners will not do any major hiring until after Obama leaves office. That is a plain fact. Your anger is misplaced. You need to be in front of the White House protesting.

  • @Citizen5667

No... How would a smaller government help in any way? Obviously your just stating a common idea that most republicans represent, but is there any reason why a smaller government would be better? What you would be doing is just giving more power to the corporations. In theory; the power and money they receive should go back to the middle class. But in reality all of that money is being invested outside of this country (because it's cheaper), destroying the middle class... So yeah.

  • @karend51 First of all, the movement is mostly made up of middle class Americans. And if you think the middle class in America has nothing to protest about, then you are very misinformed. The idea that having enough money to use cheap, mass-produced consumer electronics means that you have nothing to complain about is laughable.

  • IF YOU DONT LIKE THE COUNTRY THEN FUCKING LEAVE
