@nikitabijoux I so wish I could!!! You made this comment 2 years ago and I don't even know if they're still alive!!!

@TheCutL Yes the song is about WW1 and the footage used is WW2, but in both wars (and all the other ones in history) young men who were inexperienced, innocent, and not ready to fight were pulled away from the comforts of life to fight for their countries...and their lives ended for it. I am glad for EVERY soldier that has died for my country and for their sacrifice, but it is still sad.

@UnknownBlitzKid Yes. I forgot about this for a while and was reminded of it last night, and have now decided to read the book first, and then see the film. I am almost sure with how I am it will choke me up more than once. It seems very sad, all the lives of innocent young men in all the wars, not just WW1.

@dracomasta13 I think it's perfect, considering all the death and somber occurrences in the Wars.

this song sucks.someone had to say iti want them to put adagio in g minor in the 2012 remake like they did with gollipoli

I personally think that the music is unfitting to the lyrics. Personally I think this should be rock or metal, but hell, it's Elton John :D

@doubts War isn't always a failure as you might think it is.

3 things come to mind.. The absolute failiure of humanity when it decides to go to war. The brilliance of Elton 70 till 82 ish. Those drum fills by one of the best studio drummers of all time.. Jeff Porcaro [toto].
