Who goes to that particular bar street in Sanlitun anyway? Just hop over to the proper bar street, with Kai, Smuggler's Arms etc. Or Lantern. They may be expensive and dive-y but at least they don't scam.

Only stupid foreign tourists and Chinese with money to burn go to those awful places on actual "bar street".

Thanks! Something like this just happened to me last week, but I didn't think about it in terms of a scam until seeing your video. Come to think of it, it probably was a scam. I wound up just taking the food that they brought over, even though my table didn't order it. Next time, no way! Thanks.

For this kind of reason that I don't go to Sanlitun. It's just for expats and chancers.

Really hope more is done to stamp this kind of thing out as it brings down the good name of the area, the capital, etc. and the many great places one can eat out with fabulous food for so little.
