This woman could sing just as well as Whitney and it's too bad she wasn't a bigger star, there was no hoopla when she died the way there is now for Whitney. Phyllis was just as talented. In fact I preferred her voice over Whitney or anyone else. Her songs had more diversity, Whitney's were all starting to sound alike.

It's so sad that she took her own life due to unhappiness. She was more than phenomenal and is to this day...sorely missed. And no, Beyonce or Mary J. Blige or even Whitney Houston could ever portray Phyllis Hyman in a biography film. I have absolutely nothing against Whitney, just don't think that she can play Phyllis.

one of the reason I don't want Beyonce playing Phyllis Hyman in a movie because if she remade a song for the movie.
You'll have kids swearing up & down that Beyonce out sang her (ex. Etta Jame and Anita Baker songs)
