  • @KimuOsama: Morihei Ueshiba, in his search for fighting arts, spent a good time in China and practised with various Taijis Masters. Back in Japan, he developed Aikido which is really based on Taiji. I practised both for years and today still practise the latter. A real martial artist always respect but never degrade another style. That is all I have to say. Respect.

  • @Kimu0sama : i ever learned that shit before and its sucks , not good in a real fight

  • @ninjajesus81 It's like if someone says you could build a big tunnel that would make anti-hydrogen you'd say it sounds like hogwash unless you had been involved with or been closely following the project.

So to answer your question, 'What is qi?' It is the limit of your competency in taiji quan.

  • @Rhizomio Exercises the marrow? What is qi and why does this sound like hogwash?

  • @ninjajesus81 Of course the bones don't get flexible : ) but the cartilage and tendons acquire such strength because taijiquan exercises the marrow. "Where blood goes qi follows" and vise versa. A lot of taijiquan is counter-intuitive at first.

  • @Rhizomio How do you exercise bones? If his finger felt like rubber, it was because his tendons and joints allow a lot of movement. The bones themselves don't get more flexible.

  • Slow it down, please! And yes, there is Taiji in this clip...whatever you learned is incorrect!

  • Why does he punch with his fist and not with his wrist (joint)? That is at least the way I was taught when doing this movement and it is quite obvious that this way is right because the joint is much harder and can not break. All in all he seems to be able to fight but his Tai Ji looks rather hard to me and there is no flow.

  • looks nice.. but I prefer Aikido ^_^

  • I don't mean that in a bad way.

I like this guy ,I think he's got some skill.

And of coarse you should learn all the techniques you can.
