Sharon Au ... sigh, when she was in a host in Mandarin variety shows, she can't speak proper Mandarin. Likewise, she can't speak proper English here - "... what does she think she has?..." Grammatically incorrect, and this is only an example among many others. The truth simply is - she can't speak proper Mandarin and English, unless of course, the speech is scripted and she simply just regurgitates the scripted speech.

cut her some slack guys... she asked for her mother, and her hands were shaking thoughout, you can tell how nervous she was.
it was a heartfelt speech albeit slightly idealistic and this is to be expected from someone who has only just stepped away from academia
but indeed the ideals that she propounds, like freedom of speech, is key to any society, and if she, an individual capable of reasoning, believes that Tony Tan can sculpt such a society for Singapore then all the more power to him
