What happened to the good ol' days when God would come down as a pillar of fire, or when giants roamed the earth. Cultural folk lore and mythologies concerning such miraculous, supernatural things always seem to take place in a far distant past when "times were different". When and why was this seemingly arbitrary line drawn in the sand that caused the magic to die and "faith" in God to become a foundational, unquestioned condition?

  • lol terrible ending bro

  • its more deep then that many have seen GOD and have rejected him ...

christianitys faith is that Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed us to GOD and continually intercedes for us before the Father

its all about atonement of your SINS

    all sin = death

  • "Faith means not wanting to know what is true." ...Nietzsche

I think these are exactly the things that religious people "get" from their belief.

I say "get" because most of these things, when they come from religious faith, are fallacious. But they FEEL genuine.

Religious faith is confidence in the imaginary.

    Good vid btw

Atheist here. I think of the word "faith" as meaning "confidence".

Confidence that I'm doing the right thing with my life,

confidence that I'm not a waste of space,

confidence that I'm compatible with my peers,

confidence that things I expect to happen will happen,

confidence that "everything will be all right in the end".

  • Nice video! You brought up some good points!

  • "When and why was this arbitrary line drawn in the sand that caused the magic to die and "faith" in God to become a foundational, unquestioned condition?"

The exact date was May, 21st 852 CE when the "arbitrary line" was drawn in the sand. Why the date May 21st 852 CE you ask?

Absolutely no reason at all. If there was a reason, then it wouldn't be the "arbitrary line" in the sand now would it?
