ask harmonix, they are developers and they say it couldnt be done with any other device.
But if you ask me, simple video information would take years to programm right. you need to configure it for people of every size, fat or thin and every way they might stand infornt of the camera. Far too much data. You need something that tracks human beings and knows thats your arm, thats your knee thats your hand etc. But thats only me guessing.
