What all exactly did you have to do to get the turbo in there. Reinforce positions or anything done to the internals? I'm looking to turbo my cobalt with same size engine and just wanna know what I'm gonna be getting into haha

I have a 2009 Cobalt LT 2.4l Ecotec and have been playing with the idea of getting a decent turbo on it. If I do start going a little mad scientist on it, I'll be aiming for 240 bhp. But I'm scared to death of the having transmission issues. Any recommendations?

Can you buy that adapter that hooks up to the downpipe? If so please post a link.

Weak. any bone head could put a turbo on. yall didn't even build the motor. cheap and fast isn't reliable.
-
Just was wondering about how much did it all cost to install the turbo and dyno it

nice build, and some really good up close pictures, saving this for sure for reference

@06cobaltls1 There is a plug you have to take out on the back of the engine. I put the Garrett Alpha Turbo Kit on my cobalt. Just Google "766621-0001" and the first result should be the install manual

This car ended up getting a spec stage 2 clutch setup fairly quickly after the turbo setup went on it... I would definitely recommend that as a part of the build for sure... the stocker will not take the power...especially if its got some miles on it... this car had over 50,000 miles on it at the time of the build

You could definitely do a setup like this for an auto, as well as the LSJ Supercharger swap. This kit was setup/tuned with the SCT Livewire flash tuner (canned tune) HOWEVER, this car could have also been tuned with the AEM FI/C piggyback. More than likely if the customer wants more power and boost out of this car we will be adding the AEM FI/C to perform all the tuning. Thanks for the comments.

The car put down 201 whp 216 wtq through the slipping stock clutch only on between 7-10 psi. Definitely more power possible with more boost. Thanks for the question
