In overtime, Bobby Clarke scores the game winning goal to give the Flyers their first win on Boston Garden ice since November 12, 1967 and, more importantly, send the series to the Spectrum tied at one game each.

The call by Gene Hart and Don Earle.

  • If I remember correctly (it was a long time ago), wasn't there an problem with the telecast and all of us missed this OT goal of game 5? Everyone who saw this remembers Clarke scoring but forget the beautiful pass Bill Flett set to Clarke so he could score. This oe really ripped the heart out of us Bruins fans and we knew we were in trouble. The team was getting old and Bobby's knee was failing him...plus we knew Kate Smith would be singing in Philly. 0 for 5 since Kate died (Cups for Philly)

  • Greatest goal in Flyer history,we all knew the Flyers would win the series after that goal.Great to see nitwit O'Rreilly on the ice stumbling around like a goofball coughing it up to Shultz who made the assist.Big Bad Bruins RIP!

  • For all that think Schultz was a goon........he initiated this play to flett and of course the greatest Philadelphia player (in any sport) ever (IMO....no debate needed schmidt, carlton, halladay, Dr J were amazing).....Bobby Clarke

  • Greatest sports moment in my life. I was 9 when this happened and watched it on TV. I just saw Bobby Clarke about 4 months ago at a Flyers game and told him that this goal was my favorite sports moment ever, he thanked me and I thanked him as well. Wow what a goal to see as a kid, I loved it!!!!

  • Play it John Kiley, "Paree", kick the Flyers ass this time B's

  • Don EARLE the man! best hockey announcer ever captures the Flyers magic moment famously, even though IT BROKE MY high school age heart. earle did bruins games from 1967-1971 on TV and he's a Mass. native.

  • I remember this like it was yesterday.
