i never got this drive to show up in my finder, but it was recognized by Lacie LightScribe Labeler ....finally. I had to turn off the computer and unplug the drive from the outlet. First I plugged in the drive, therefore turning it on, connected it to the macbook, then finally turned on the macbook. This worked as far as getting the software to recognize the drive. Still can't see the drive in finder though.

@hanan915 Your drive will not appear in Finder unless you insert a DVD or CD into it, that is how Mac handles it's drives :/ Try putting in a CD or DVD and see what happens.

I have the same exact driver which I just bought on craigslist but for the life of me I can't get my macbook to read it. What do you suggest? It's driving me insane.

@illzlogik I would first open Disk Utility to see if your computer is even recognizing it, and if it is not, then try to restart your computer with it plugged in. Also, make sure you have the power plugged into a plug just incase.
