In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 29km/h into a rigid pole.

2 months ago i had a side crash against a tree at about 60km/h with this model...

the tree hit the structural bar between the doors. No airbag set off.

The driver broke both clavicles and the middle finger, and had a 2cm cut in the head. The passenger had no injuries.

It was a strong crash, i'd say its a safe car.

I'm getting one of these as my first car and really glad it's a strong car. I won't be crashing it as I like to think I'm not like other drivers my age. Good to know that I'll be safe god forbid if anything was to happen

well atleast it was a VW :) my sister had a crash in a VW Polo. the guy on the other side of the road was overtaking round a corner, he was doing about 100mph, the police said. he was driving a mitsubishi evo. my sister was doing about 50mph, so 150mph impact, yet my sister opened the door with only a cut on her head and the other guy had to be cut out his car. his daughter was in the passanger and she broke both her legs. shows how good the germans are at building these machines. VW, AUDI, BMW
