In memory of a dear lady who passed away this January at the age of 92. Five years ago Fran had asked me to play this song for her. It was the first time I played it for anyone.

"The Man I Love" was written by George Gershwin and his brother Ira in 1927. Well known recordings include versions by Helen Morgan, Vaughn De Leath, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Hazel O'Connor, Cher, Barbra Streisand, Kate Bush and harmonica player Larry Adler (# 22 in the 1994 UK Singles Chart), Tony Bennett, Israeli musician Ivri Lider. Malian musician Rokia Traoré solo - and duet with Dianne Reeves, Django Reinhardt, and Vassilikos.

Very moving rendition of The Man I Love, nothing but praise from me, and being an Oscar Peterson idolizer, I know how to appreciate touch and feel on the piano, aa well as harmonic richness and "simplicity." Wonderfully played, beautiful intro.
