and what I mean by "Made by different people" is another Bioware team then the main one but as I said it's HIGHLY unlikely

and with the windows version published by EA of ME1 we could infact see a PS3 port based on more the PC version

and one of the two reasons why Thane might have died is that you didn't "kill" the first eye creature that boarded the ship fast enough

And if you did have it on 360 and did care about achivements having all members live will in fact get you one.
Another thing to note is that if you let Jack and Thane live you might have seen them in ME3
