  • @guitarman8888888 No. No. I got a Takamine and it cost more than the Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-500RE but it is nowhere near as good unplugged. Sure, the pickup system in it is more reliable but it is just a UST and sounds like all UST-only systems... quacky. I had a bad experience with Epiphone and thought that I'd never buy another but I did and I'm glad. All solid and sounds great. Only problem is the crap eSonic2 but unplugged it's a £2000 guitar. Better than a real J-200 IMO.

  • Why have Epiphone ruined their Marsterbilt guitars by using this pick-up system. It is very unreliable and owners have extremely variable experience. Output from the eSonic2 is not consistent. Many people, like myself, have had problems with it from the start and many others have been initially happy with it but have had problems with mains hum and distorted over-driven output later. IMO the problem is with the "Nanoflex" UST which is unreliable and overly sensitive to string pressure.

  • for some reason the left and right channel are out of phase with each other.

  • lol just get a takamine or taylor

  • It´s pretty ironic really. The guy in the video is bragging his ass of about the great sound, but the video sound sucks. Go figure...

  • I own a Epiphone Masterbilt with the Esonic 2 preamp. I have had the guitar for 2 years and had nothing but problems with the eSonic 2 from failing to work to hums and popping noises. I could not depend using my guitar with the esonic 2. The warranty is 5 years, you have to send eSonic 2 $50 dollars and the cost of $100 dollars to ship your guitar to eSonic 2. This is my experience with the eSonic 2 preamp.

  • Thanks for doing this, and thanks for the great sound of it.
