An Arduino based diorama that my 10yr old wanted to do for her book report on "The Egg Monsters From Mars" for school. While wanting to do a diorama she commented that she wanted to spice it up with lights and moving parts. More then glad to help her earn another Hack Scout badge by assisting her with this project she was able to learn a little something with my assitance & referencing the book "Getting Started with Arduino". The design, painting, & coding she did her self using the example found in the Arduino library based on the "Sweep" example.

Yes, because letting a 10yr old use a circular saw is such a better idea then having an adult assist them. For the record she drew out her idea on paper, soldered all the wiring, hot glued everything, and followed the example from the Arduino library. But thanks for the negativity

Seems like a cool way to spark some interest in electronics. Redirected here from Adafruit.

Serenity, that's an awesome project. Well done! You and your family should come out to New York City for MakerFaire in September. It sounds like your dad probably has those plans covered though.

You'd probably also be interested in the Brooklyn Robot Foundry or something similar in your area. Check out their web site.

Thumbs up for open source hardware. Keep up the great work!
