Terrafugia The Transition is the first real flying car On Road and in the Skies.. I was inspired by this and made a music video dedicated to the guys who made this project possible with the song Together in electric dreams by Philip Oakley and Giorgio Moroder. Terrafugia is a private company based in Woburn, Massachusetts that is developing The Transition, a roadable aircraft that the company describes as a Personal Air Vehicle. The aircraft is designed to change configurations, enabling it to operate as a traditional road vehicle and as a general aviation airplane.The aero-auto hybrid will be designed to be capable of landing at an airport and then folding the wings in and becoming a roadable vehicle. Terrafugia was founded by graduates of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduates of the MIT Sloan School of Management. Terrafugia was incorporated in 2006. The Transition "Personal Air Vehicle" is expected to be released in late 2009. The estimated purchase price is $194,000. Owners will drive the car from their garage to an airport, and then they will then be able to fly within a range of 100 to 500 miles. It will carry two people plus luggage and will operate on a single tank of regular unleaded gas. The Transition made its maiden flight on March 5th 2009. It lasted 37 seconds and covered 3000 feet of the runway at the Plattsburgh International Airport. The test pilot then proceeded to make 6 more takeoffs and landings.

"Together in Electric Dreams" is a song by the British singer and composer Philip Oakey and producer Giorgio Moroder. It was written by Oakey and Moroder and recorded for the original soundtrack of the 1984 film Electric Dreams. It later formed part of the joint album Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder, released in 1985. Released as a single in the UK in September 1984 it proved a major commercial success, actually eclipsing the original film it was intended to promote. It reached Number three in the UK Singles Chart, staying in the charts for 13 weeks. It would prove to be the only hit of the brief Oakey/Moroder partnership. It was finally released as a single in the United States in 1988.

@Violatorman The reason they do this is so pilots dont have to call a taxi just to get to there house from the airport. this way they can just drive home from the airport, to the airport, and in dangerous flying conditions they can land and continue there trip on ground instead of having to wait a day to take off again.

flying cars should not take off from the city or highway it should take off from the airport and also land from the airport and have a garage for special flying cars at the airport it look stupid and Retarded fying in the city or at the highway but actually why do we really need flying cars for what we have air planes to do that and we have cars on the Road since now they gonna put flying cars on the market we dont need that they should leave it the way it was.

Flying cars that actually LOOK like cars are easy to make... just strip the car of all BS and replace the body with alluminum, small jet engine in the back, and sides for turning, rotation, and acceleration, and WAH LAH........ Goddamn that actually sounds like it could work huh Hahahahaha, great video.
