Pastors and laity from across Great Britain share the merits of Living the Questions, a video-based small group exploration of an expansive, thoughtful, justice-oriented and compassionate Christianity known in the States as progressive Christianity.
I like the look of this, but, one of my "questions" after seeing it is: how can that guy towards the end claim that hell is just something people have made up and Jesus never mentioned? He clearly mentions it in a number of places in the New Testament - sheep and goats, it is better to lose a hand or eye than go into hellfire etc. LIberal Christians seem to assume everything Jesus said was lovely and anything negative was made up later. How can you know that? Isn't that just blind faith...
I totally applaud your approach to enquiring about Christianity. I did an Alpha course which purported to be open to all views and inclusive but in fact was anything but! Congratulations on this initiative (much needed).
