Interesting... I grew up drinking this tea. My grandmother used to make it from the roots. We drank it in the winter time to thin the blood to help circulate the blood and keep us warm. I still use it on occasion. I have never however, experienced any hallucinogen effects. If that were true, wouldn't they be growing it in abundance in California?

@wheelori814 The oil from the roots are a precursor to MDMA and MDA. MDMA and MDA are both somewhat psychedelic.
