Robert has faith. He also believes that science and christianity are intertwined. The hosts explain why both are invalid ideas when it comes to getting to the truth. Ashley Perrien and Russell Glasser host this clip from The Atheist Experience #396 - http://www.atheist-experience.com

The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin. The ACA is a non-profit organization, promoting positive atheism and the separation of church and state. If you would like to make a donation please do so at http://www.atheist-community.org/donate/

  • @newcoyote in a nutshell.

  • God spoke the world

  • this guy was super uneducated and thinking he could have won but it takes more faith to believe in theories...creation of universe...uni =1 verse = spoken sentence

  • @midwestgoon309 Yes, you can argue that before any verification there must be an idea. However, believing in something doesn't make it true. And I think I have a different definition of faith; Where an idea can be evolved into theories and facts via scientific verification, faith just stops, not having to go further than believing in it.

  • @Julle83 Im not saying math and logic are false but before anything was ever proven to be true a person believed it could be proven to be true. And whether or not scientific verification is correct whether somebody believes in it or not the fact still remains that the only way anything was ever able to be verified was because somebody first believed it could be verified.Do you really think science was created out of scientific studies before anyone even knew what a scientific study was?

  • @midwestgoon309 Scientific verification is correct with or without anyone believing in it. Look, I'm simply arguing against your claim that things are created by faith, so you're taking this conversation a bit too far by discussing fundamentals. If you honestly think that math and logic are false, then we don't have a common ground to base our arguments on.

  • @Julle83 Somebody had to believe that scientific verification was correct.Look science can only explaain and make logic of what is logical and explainable. But this does not mean that that logic is absolutley correct or cant be wrong you just believe it is without proof.

  • @midwestgoon309 No. I think there must have been some kind of a scientific verification for testing that the idea could actually work. Ideas don't become reality by believing in them.

  • @BastEternal Well said! The beauty of science is that it allows us to continually reevaluate what we believe based on the evidence available.

  • @Julle83 actually yes they were created by faith the only reason any computer was ever created was because someone first believed they could create it
