This is the 3nd clip of Clay Aiken performances during his Juke Box Tour (JBT) in Boston, August 28th, 2005. This is the Elvis Medley.
The set list for the JBT included hits from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, a medley of songs from Clay's Measure Of A Man album, a sampling of songs Clay was trying out on audiences for possible inclusion in his then up-coming album; and, in several cities (including Boston) Clay invited the audience to 'stump the band,' by taking requests for unrehearsed songs.
In this clip, the set begins with Clay sitting at the piano while he explains the importance of Elvis Presley's music to Rock & Roll. It continues with Clay stating self-deprecatingly that he's about to 'masaqure' the "King's" music. Clay then begins to faltering play the piano as the Medley begins.
Elvis songs that Clay performed during the Medley include: Love Me Tender, Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes, Don't Be Cruel, Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock, Can't Help Falling In Love and Suspicious Minds.
Idol watchers from Season 2, watch the hip 'moves.' Clay Can dance. :)
Several video clips were pulled together and spliced by me throughout the play list in order to get as many close-up shots as possible of Clay's performances. Any defects in the quality of the continuity of the spliced clips are mine alone.
CLACK gatherers' clips for this segment include SLC and MarLovesClay. A Big thank you to them for preserving Clay's performances on tape for the enjoyment of all of his fans
