Have they reactivated tracks on this bridge recently? There appears to be two tracks to the left side of this train, both electrified. Last time I crossed, those were the only two tracks that Amtrak used to cross the bridge?

yup parallel to bruckner boulevard, across randall's island and over into astoria. i live in the north section of the bronx near eastchester road at night i hear an occasional freight train.
metro north should operate commuter service on this line with bronx stops so u have an alternate to the west side and NJ from the bronx

Good point about Metro North. If they did, then Amtrak could eliminate all stops west of New Haven, getting higher speed through there.
