@paidskn1488 Not always. Black sand does confirm that there is gold in a stream.

Is that 'black sand' only iron, or is there any silver in it ?

@Roddyoneeye It's pretty much magnetite, could be silver in there but the area is not known for silver.

@Roddyoneeye There really shiny pieces of black sand are actually pieces of galena which is natural lead.
