  • What did you use to strenghten the wings? I bought some foam core material today. How would I strenghten the overal structure of the fuselage?

  • Carbon fiber accross the leading edge of the wing (rectangular) and along the botton edge of the fuse as well as carbon fiber tubing through the middle of the fusalage .

  • This plane is the "Nasty" designed by WaterDog over at RCGroups. I've made a few of them and they are amazing 3D machines when built light. Depron is by far the best material to use, along with a 150+ watt motor. Nice colors on this one.

  • Yes, it is a "Nasty" and WaterDog deserves all the credit. This one is a bit on the heavy side but I have since replaced the existing motor with a 500-600 speed motor and the results are quite good. I am by no means an expert flyer but I have let a few people who are try it out and they all seem to like it "especially the price". Do you have any other plans/suggestions for future projects?

  • what kind of foam did you use nice job by the way

  • Thanks. This was made with Elmers Foam board from Staples. You can get it in other colors besides white. Make sure your plane has plenty of power since it is kind of heavy stuff. You can get the plans from the web.

  • hey i made mine outa rubber banda plastic and fiber glass

  • Do you think its possible for me to get away with using a 'double-layer' of foam instead? What wingspan is your model? Do you think I'll be able to get performance using a 8Amp ESC?

  • strip the paper off the foamcore and it's up to 40% lighter! It's cheap depron!

  • I have tried a few different combos with this plane and have found that you really need to keep the wingloading low to get good performace out of it. I think thats true for any flat plate wing style. I use a 15 amp motor, and a 1200mah lipo. My auw is 15 ozs and the plane does 3D VERY well. Good luck!

  • Good stuff.
