'Kingdom of Not' is a track from the most recent CD by Forgotten Fish Memory Orchestra, 'If I Had a Hi Fi'. The tune was written by Sun Ra, many years ago, back in the fifties in fact, before the advent of television for the masses. In those days families used to create their own entertainment......for example spend an evening at home making music in the living room together. http://livewithoutdeadtime.wordpress.com/

  • Only a respectful genius could do justice to a fundamental jazz piece as the original Ra's

  • @ronpolla thanks. do you know the sun ra original from a 50s album called Supersonic Sounds? I always thought there was a kind of kinship between forgotten fish memory and the arkestra, with the costumes and the very diverse repertoire and general sense of creative fun.

  • I sense that these guys (and ladies) know of the vastness of the universe - it is all around us!

Their music is vast, their attitude is vast and their images are beautifully vast - but that they also know this is just an infinitessimal part of it all. So Good - there is so much scope to go on inventing and expressing the miraculous and beautiful vastness of this very strange phenomenon which we think of as creation - whatever that is!

The music is truly lovely isn't it?

  • Thats an impressive comment! Thanks.

  • finally, a video that reminds me of my childhood!! my family reunions were just like this!!

of course, my family were not such talented musicians and we all just played pots and pans and screamed until the police came to shut us up.

i'm glad you all found each other. the world can be cruel to those who are different.

by the way, what instrument did the fish play?

  • fish scales

  • Phantasmagoric. My feet thank you.

  • In my mind there are 4 different yt-ers: those who watch shamelessly commercial-heavy videos/music/whatnot; those who want to see people being harmed in amusing ways; those who try to pick fights via comments; and those, the smallest community, of individuals who can't find/afford hard-to-find imports and eclectic music that they must congregate here to find rare glimpses of genius.

  • awesome
