It's not simple. YouTube videos are stored in a proprietary format, and they don't offer direct download. The best method is to capture it from the screen, which will work from ANY website. There are many free programs available to do this, but I use a plugin to Firefox called VideoDownloader. (to be continued)

(Continued) Even once you have the file, it seems that most software will provide you with only an .FLV file, which usually must be converted before editing. If that's what you want to do, search for video conversion software. What you want is out there, and it's probably free, (without watermarks) but you have to look around and try several trial versions to decide what works for you. Good luck, have fun!
