MagicWars is a competition between parlor/standup magicians who present 15 minute acts in succession in front of a live audience. Then, they are judged and awarded a winner and runner up declaration. Fun for the audience, and gives acts a chance to hone that part of their repertoire that can't be rehearsed in front of a mirror or on video, without the interaction of a live audience. Constraints and conditions exist. No large illusions, the whole act must be able to fit into two suitcases (the Southwest Airlines rule). No hired or trained assistants, only audience participation. Original material will be rewarded with higher marks than push-button, store bought, hack stuff. No impersonations (Austin Powers, costumed characters, Charlie Chaplin, etc.) We want to see YOU!!! Our first ever performance, here, is Paul Carpenter, a total trooper. Paul was talking smack about his act, and we called him on it. He stepped up and hit it out of the park! Great performer, great on his feet!
