The EcoBox Project is a CPCC Faculty Fellows Applied Research project to design a self-contained off-grid home workshop from a standard 40' high top cargo container.
When you told me about this, it reminded me of a job I was working in Puerto Rico for a pharmaceutical company. We used 190 modules built cheaply and easily on the ground at the main factory in SC. Each container sized module was shipped to and stacked at the destination. They were furnished with all of the necessary medical equipment, so the only thing left to do was connect the various cables, pipes and seal the walls between them.
ygo- we don't really know yet- i wanted to try and build it for 10k without labor- but that could easily be spent on the solar system alone- so i'm still targetting 10k in materials eventually- but maybe not in the first run. As far as beta testing, everyone is- i'll probably spend some nights in one, and we have various people with land and project who want to experiment- unfortunately nothing ready to live in just yet- but figuring out what it needs is a critical part of it.

What is the price range for these and are you looking for a beta tester to live in one? Please let me know. Thanks.
