There's nothing scientifically "wrong" with homosexuality as a concept. It is morality - religious rules made up by some person - that says it is "wrong". That is all. As for begin counter productive... it's currently counter-productive for men like you to be having children with women around the world and then dumping them and running off, yet it happens anyway. It is also counter productive to have so many children in overpopulated regions yet it happens anyway.

Science doesn't work that way. There's nothing scientifically wrong with homosexuality because "homosexuality" as a word is not a question or theory or a hypothesis. You have to use the word in a sentence or question in order to determine if it is "wrong" or otherwise. If your question is phrased "Is homosexuality scientifically wrong?" (which I assume is what you mean) then the answer is "No".
