This clip was filmed during a recent advanced class. The idea of the 5-9-9 drill is to train the defender against the two most common knife attacks. The slash to the neck area and a thrust to the abdomen.
We don't share this type of information during an initial E.V.E. class because people get fixated on the "cool" stuff and don't practice enough for the most common attacks on EMS/Fire and healthcare (grabs/strikes). So weapon defense is reserved for the advanced c lass.
