You do bring up a legitimate point for things such as magazines, childrens books, manuals, comic books, etc. where there's an abundance of imagery. There could be room for expansion in the future for e-ink to take on some color or just use a back-lit screen, or just buy the actual book.

However, for the reader who is simply reading novels and such, they don't sit around just gazing at the cover - they are reading the actual content of the book and an eReader works just fine.

  • @sephirothsinic I am nihilistic and angry at times, though I haven't been a teen for several years now. Hmmm I did do I pretty good pitch didn't I? I got a bit into the moment.

Listen I'm sure that the album art on the sleeves vinyl records come in are much more beautiful than a thumbnail of the same thing on iTunes, but I would really rather just listen to my music. I think people will buy special editions of their favorite books as collectors items, but the future of reading is digital.

  • @sephirothsinic Who cares about the cover.... care about the content.

  • By this video the views are waaaaaaay down from vid 1.... CRAP.

  • prey4war do u actually work for amazon or u just playing the nihilistic little angry teen against the world?

dude that reader is a toy... where are all the colorful covers and the beautiful book-bindings and I am a CG Artist professional speaking... I live on computers

  • Okay okay. This is a legitimate argument, but the number of books available is only growing. Amazon's goal is to have every book available for the Kindle. Don't blame Amazon. Blame the stodgy publishers who haven't made their books available in this new and exciting format.

  • this is actually my biggest issue with the kindle. when i look up books that are on my to read list, kindle doesn't carry them!
