@MegaMalevolent, i disagree. ive heard people say possessed was death/thrash, and not full death metal. of, course, i do consider possessed to be dm, but volcano is about as deathly as any of those bands. and the formed before. its all a matter of opinion, i guess.

@wolf4241991 Actually, they play a hybrid of Thrash, Death and Black Metal. They belong to the so-called "First wave of Black Metal", therefore people say that they play Black Metal. And this was not the birth of Death Metal, this album was released in 1986. Death Metal was born in 1984 when Possessed and Mantas (Death) released their legendary demos.
