In the first part of this 4 part special interview, Phil sits down with EVIL ROBOT enthusiast Paul Jackson Jr. (In addition to being a recording artist in his own right, Jackson is a highly accomplished L.A. session player, with a career spanning multiple decades. He has supported artists ranging from Michael Jackson (on the albums Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory and Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix) to Whitney Houston, Thomas Anders, Patti LaBelle and Luis Miguel, to rockers such as Chicago and Elton John, to jazz greats such as George Duke, Dave Koz, Al Jarreau, David Benoit, Marcus Miller and Kirk Whalum, and to Christian artists such as Leon Patillo and Don Moen.
Jackson can be seen playing guitar in a wide variety of styles on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.) Phil and Paul discuss career, musical interest, experience, and most importantly The Evil Robot and why it is so MAGICAL!

  • this is a great video if you DON'T want to hear the amp and you DO want to hear guys talk about the amp.

  • boy, those guitars look puuurdy sittin in the background . . .

  • Hello. Do you have trussart guitars deluxe steelcaster in stock? Best Regards.

  • this is lame, makes Phil seem lame, makes the evil robot lame, paul jackson junior was cool at one time but c'mon did you see that album cover and hear what was on it.

  • Thousands of records? AND he played on the Thriller album?! That's awesome.

Unfortunately, he works for that douche Leno, so his endorsement is immediately discredited.

    Kidding.

But seriously, Leno is the worst.

  • @zziggymaan If you live in (or can get to) Los Angeles, call or email Fretted Americana and set up an appointment to demo the amp. They are very cool people and were happy to let me crank it up for 20 minutes and see what tones I could get out of it. You won't be disappointed, it sounds better live than it does in the FA videos.

  • @jcornell85 LOL I was thinking the same exact thing when I watched this...

  • lol description is from wikipedia lol i love that

  • Aside from some of the freakish tubes that were used, and maybe not using nesting birds to wire the thing, how does the EVIL ROBOT differ from its root amp, the mighty Magnatone?

My Magnatone, made for an accordian teacher in Santa Anna, uses an ELL80 tube...that costs about as much as I paid for the amp. Great amp though!
