@missincali85 Black buckets get a LOT hotter than any other color. The last plants I had in black buckets got fried while everything else was fine. I measured it with a thermometer and it was nearly 20 degrees warmer than my other buckets.

ya they get a tiny tiny bit warmer than a clear bucket. unless you use ice packs. but it also doesnt start algae growth, root rot and other stuff that takes nutrients from the root system. also black buckets from a HYDROPONIC store are all food grade plastic: so when it does get hot; it doesnt release toxins into the water that your plants are sucking up, resulting in potentially toxic veggies. ALOT of people use the home depo buckets but they usually have no clue also black is only $1 more.

@MaJahBlak lol i dont need to try it. IVE DONE IT....No wait I DO it..also i own a Hydroponics shop....... also i guess you didnt read the part about the ice packs nor any of it cause of the weak response. soooo ya a tiny bit warmer UNLESS.......you use ice packs which will actually make it cooler. Also root zones like colder temps cause it allows more air intake into the roots. MORE AIR = bigger plants...

@missincali85 again I'd love to see a vid. and ice packs? lol how long will it take for ice packs to melt? maybe a hour @ 90 degrees. Please freind me on FB and SEE what I'm doing RIGHT NOW! BLACK BUCKETS OUTSIDE IS NOT WHAT ANYONE WANTS TO DO PERIOD! now if I'm wrong SHOW me then I will correct myself. but ice packs will melt fast it doesn't take a janitor to figure that out and whose gonna even go through all that when they CAN SEE FOR THEMSELVES RIGHT NOW WHAT I'M DOING ON FACEBOOK!
