@FailHouseBurger He wasn't referring to cKy specifically, he was talking about the general consensus that fans aren't always welcoming to new material and bands trying new things, etc etc.

The guy interviewing Deron is a dick 'you're first album was good, you're second wasn't so good' you don't just say that to someone's face as the majority of bands out there are proud of all of their work.
