Rahel Musleah, author, journalist, singer, and storyteller, was the guest speaker at the annual Scholar's Weekend Dec. 4-5, 2009, at Tikvat Israel in Rockville, Md. Born in Calcutta, India, to a Jewish family that traces its roots to 17th century Baghdad, Musleah delights in sharing her Indian religious and cultural heritage with her fellow Jews. She sang the Sephardic melodies to many Hebrew songs during the Scholar's Weekend. This is a sample from one of them.
