I was at this concert. on August 6 1972. Duane had died 10 months earlier. Berry Oakley would die only a couple of months later. It was a fantastic concert.
@Bimbatten I read that ABB book (quite enlightening) and know they were having a tough time getting motivated and accepting Berry as their leader. I guess Greg was many times really low in spirit. I don't blame him. In actuality, they were probably way too loaded at San Diego. LOL.
I was at the San Diego show the night before. Actually the performance was flat and unispired for the most part. Loggins and Messina opened and easily blew away the Bros. I was shocked. Worst time I ever saw them. Only the Encore "Les Bres" showed any fire at all and by then it was too late. I've heard HB it was way better......
