  • Very nice! Did the auto waterers come from HD? Never saw anything like that there.. I have a bunch of turkeys coming in April & then 25 Phoenix chickens. We raised 40 Phoenix last year, looking to brood more this year. Where did you get the feeders & waterers?

    Thanks!!

  • @skinurse253 I hand build everything. I built the feeders from the stacking plastic shelve containers from the dollar store and a piece of paneling, leaving a slits in the front and a ledge that they could stick their heads through to eat. The waterers I ordered the nipples from farmtec and fabricated my own system from scrap pvc, some 3/4" tubing, and a trash can. I used a toilet tank mechanism to fill the trash can reservoir and the rest of the system was gravity fed.

  • @skinurse253 They liked to dig out the food so I added some cardboard covers so they could only stick their beaks through and couldn't make as much of a mess. Same with the water nipples, they liked to just hold the nipples open and play in the water i guess... also making a mess. So i took some wire hangers and some 1" PVC caps and made little cups to go under the nipples so they could drink from the cups, or the nipples - drastically reducing spillage.
